PAPUA - Amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Papua, in Omukia District, Puncak Regency, a touching scene of brotherhood and unity unfolded. Soldiers from the Wira Yudha Cakti Battalion (Yonif 700/WYC) at the Eromaga Post gathered with local residents not just to pray, but to celebrate togetherness over a shared meal.

A Tradition of Togetherness

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the TNI soldiers welcomed the people of Eronggobak Village with open arms, continuing a weekly tradition of hospitality and camaraderie. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, warm conversations, and the spirit of kinship, strengthening the deep bonds between the TNI and the community.

"This gathering is more than just sharing food. It is a moment for us to connect, build trust, and strengthen our unity, " said First Lieutenant Inf Sudirmab, Commander of Eromaga Post.

More Than Just a Meal

Beyond the simple act of eating together, this tradition serves as a bridge of understanding between the soldiers and the people they protect. Stories are exchanged, friendships are formed, and a sense of safety and belonging grows within the community.

"We truly appreciate the kindness of the TNI. Every week, they invite us to eat together, and we feel deeply cared for and valued, " expressed one of the residents, his smile reflecting the warmth of the occasion.

Strengthening Peace and Prosperity

Recognizing the significance of this ongoing tradition, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of Habema Joint Operations Command, emphasized that the TNI is not just a guardian of security—it is an integral part of the Papuan family.

"This bond of togetherness will continue to grow, fostering peace and prosperity across Bumi Cenderawasih, " he stated.

A Symbol of Unity in Papua

In a world where division often makes headlines, this simple act of breaking bread together speaks volumes. It is a reminder that unity is built on shared moments, mutual respect, and unwavering support for one another. Through these weekly gatherings, the TNI continues to strengthen the social fabric of Papua—one meal at a time.
