Singapore – A delegation from PT BIBU Panji Sakti, accompanied by two respected Balinese cultural leaders, visited the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to discuss preparations and international support for the construction of the North Bali International Airport.

They were received by Ambassador Suryopratomo, who reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to realizing the project, which aims to balance development between the island’s north and south.

“Southern Bali has reached its saturation point. It is time for the North to grow for the benefit of the entire island, ” the ambassador said on October 17, 2025.

The delegation included AA Ngurah Ugrasena, custodian of Pura Agung Singaraja and Secretary General of Paiketan Puri-Puri Se-Jebag Bali (P3SB), and AA Ngurah Alit Kakarsana from Puri Ageng Blahbatuh, Gianyar, who accompanied PT BIBU CEO Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko Hariwibowo. The discussion centered on development schemes, governance frameworks, and international partnerships for the strategic project.

The North Bali International Airport, officially listed in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 12 of 2025 on the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029, was signed by President Prabowo Subianto on February 10, 2025. The airport is expected to ease the burden on the island’s southern region, which currently faces overpopulation, traffic congestion, and infrastructure strain due to concentrated tourism and economic activity.

Ambassador Suryopratomo commended the initiative, calling it vital for equitable growth and long-term resilience.

“The Embassy stands ready to act as a bridge between investors, international partners, and the Indonesian diaspora who wish to contribute, ” he said. “North Bali can become not just a new gateway for tourism, but a key economic hub for Eastern Indonesia.”

CEO Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko Hariwibowo presented PT BIBU’s development roadmap, partnership structure, and timeline.

“God willing, we will begin construction soon, ” he said.

Meanwhile, AA Ngurah Ugrasena and AA Ngurah Alit Kakarsana emphasized that the project carries both cultural and moral significance, ensuring that North Bali’s people and heritage thrive alongside modernization.

“This project fulfills the President’s promise to us when we, the penglingsir of Bali, met him last year, ” said AA Ngurah Alit Kakarsana.

In a heartfelt moment, Ambassador Suryopratomo was officially welcomed as an honorary member of the Paiketan Puri-Puri Se-Jebag Bali. The honor, bestowed by AA Ngurah Ugrasena, symbolized gratitude for the ambassador’s dedication to the project.

“This recognition is both a great honor and a responsibility, ” Suryopratomo said. “It strengthens my resolve to help realize the North Bali International Airport.” (Ray)
