PAPUA - Deep in the remote heart of Papua, where access to healthcare is a rare luxury, hope emerges not just in the form of camouflage uniforms but in the unwavering dedication of soldiers. At Java Gate Post, the soldiers of Task Force Yonif 700/WYC are not only safeguarding the border but also serving as lifesavers for the people of Jigunggi Village, Mage’abume District, Puncak Regency, Papua, on Thursday (March 27, 2025).
With weary steps and fading hope, Mama Resko traveled from afar, battling distance and limitations in her search for medical care. For many, access to treatment is a distant dream—but at Java Gate Post, that dream became reality.
"All this time, we have felt alone, " Mama Resko said, her eyes glistening with tears. "But here, we feel safe. We feel cared for."
The medical team at the post welcomed her with open arms, offering treatment not just with expertise, but with heartfelt compassion. Post Commander Second Lieutenant (Letda) Inf Risal, embodying the spirit of service, stood by her side, ensuring that every medical need was met with the utmost care.
"We are not here just as soldiers—we are here as brothers and servants to the people, " Letda Risal said firmly yet warmly. "We want to be a bridge of hope for our brothers and sisters here."
Meanwhile, Pangkoops Habema Major General TNI Lucky Avianto highlighted the significance of this humanitarian mission. "At Java Gate Post, amidst limited facilities, love and care flourish, " he said. "In the hands of TNI soldiers, healthcare is no longer an unreachable dream—it is a basic right. And as long as there are people in need, hope will continue to shine brightly."
In a land where challenges are immense, TNI stands not only as protectors but as healers, bringing light to those who have long lived in the shadows.
