PAPUA - In the midst of the cold, misty mountains of Puncak, Central Papua, a different kind of warmth radiates—not from fire, but from the spirit of brotherhood. In the Honai-honai of Aminggaru Village, the Yonif 700/Wira Yudha Cakti (Wyc) Task Force arrived not just as soldiers, but as family, bringing a touch of love and solidarity to the local community, especially the traditional leaders.
Beyond Security: A Mission of Humanity
Wednesday, March 12, 2025, became a special day for the people of Aminggaru. Task Force Yonif 700/Wyc embarked on a "Honai Safari, " a heartfelt initiative where soldiers visited traditional Honai houses, the heart of Papuan social life. But this was no ordinary visit—they came not empty-handed, but with open hearts, bringing basic food packages as a symbol of their commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
"This Honai Safari is a true manifestation of the unity between the TNI and the people, " said Pasi Ter Task Force Yonif 700/Wyc. "We are here to strengthen the family ties that have been built, to listen, to understand, and to be part of the solution for the community."
Lieutenant Inf Warda, the activity coordinator, emphasized that the visit was not just about providing aid, but also about deepening their understanding of the struggles faced by the local community.
"We want to be present as a solution, to help ease the burdens of our brothers and sisters here. We don’t just bring food—we bring care, respect, and solidarity, " he stated.
A Heartfelt Moment: Tears of Gratitude
The impact of this visit was deeply felt, especially by Mr. Niko Kogoya, a respected Traditional Leader in Aminggaru Village. As he received the aid, his eyes glistened with tears.
"I have been at home for a month, unable to work. Thank you, Mr. Soldier, for coming to our Honai and providing for our needs, " he said in a trembling voice.
Beyond the basic necessities, what mattered most was the genuine connection forged between the soldiers and the community. Laughter, heartfelt conversations, and shared stories filled the air, proving that true assistance is not just about giving—it’s about being there for one another.
A Brother, Not Just a Soldier
Pangkoops Habema Major General Lucky Avianto emphasized that this Honai Safari was not just a ceremonial visit, but a testament to the real bond of love between the TNI and the Papuan people.
"The presence of the TNI is not only about maintaining security but also about building brotherhood and giving hope to the Papuan people, " he affirmed.
In Honai Aminggaru, Yonif 700/Wyc Task Force proved that their mission goes beyond defense—it is a mission of compassion, solidarity, and unwavering support for the people of Papua.
