PAPUA - In a heartfelt initiative to bring religious services closer to remote communities, the Task Force (Satgas) Infantry Battalion (Yonif) 432/WSJ Koops TNI Habema Command conducted a mobile Sunday service in Mbua District, Papua, on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

This initiative aims to provide spiritual support and religious services to residents living in isolated areas far from churches, ensuring that faith remains a central part of community life despite geographical challenges.

Unlike traditional church services, this mobile worship program was carried out door to door, bringing the Sunday service directly into people’s homes. Led by Sergeant Second (Serda) Ridolof Lutlutur, a representative of the congregation from Task Force Yonif 432/WSJ, the initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response from the local community.

"We are truly grateful for this service. Normally, attending worship is a challenge due to the long distance from our village to the church, " said one of the residents.

The Mobile Sunday Service is part of Task Force Yonif 432/WSJ’s commitment to strengthening bonds with the community and providing meaningful, faith-based support. Beyond its religious significance, the program also aims to foster a sense of togetherness and unity within the community.

Responding to this initiative, Pangkoops Habema Maj. Gen. Lucky Avianto praised the efforts of Yonif 432/WSJ, emphasizing the importance of fostering spiritual well-being among local residents while also deepening the connection between the TNI and the people.

"We hope that this initiative brings lasting benefits to the community, not just in faith but also in strengthening the bond between the TNI and the people, " he stated.

This door-to-door worship program marks the first-ever mobile Sunday service of its kind in Mbua District. Moving forward, Task Force Yonif 432/WSJ plans to continue and expand this initiative to ensure sustainable spiritual guidance for communities in Mbua and surrounding areas.

With faith, service, and commitment, TNI remains dedicated to bringing positive change to every corner of Papua.
