PAPUA - The presence of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Papua is not just about securing borders, but also about fostering strong relationships and providing real solutions for the local community. The RI-PNG Border Security Task Force, Marine Infantry Battalion 1, actively engages with the people through Social Communication (Komsos), ensuring peace, security, and solidarity in the region.
On Wednesday (03/19/2025), TNI personnel in Dekai, Yahukimo, Papua Highlands carried out Komsos activities, including distributing clothing to local residents under the guidance of Marine Infantry Battalion 1. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create a harmonious and secure environment while addressing the needs of the community.
Task Force Commander Lieutenant Colonel Marinir Siswanto emphasized that these activities are designed to monitor security and public order while strengthening bonds between TNI soldiers and the local people.
"We want the community to see us not only as security personnel but also as part of their family—ready to listen, support, and help in any way possible, " said Lieutenant Colonel Marinir Siswanto.
At the same time, Pangkoops Habema Major General TNI Lucky Avianto highlighted the significance of direct interaction and communication between TNI soldiers and residents in fostering peace and cooperation.
"A strong relationship between the TNI and the people is the foundation for long-term stability in Papua. Through engagement and trust-building, we can ensure a safer and more harmonious environment for all, " he stated.
This Social Communication initiative underscores the TNI’s commitment to not only maintaining security but also actively contributing to the welfare of the Papuan people. Through a solution-oriented approach and strong community engagement, Marine Infantry Battalion 1 Task Force continues to make a positive impact in Papua.
