PAPUA - In the remote heartlands of Papua, the Border Security Task Force (Pamtas) Yonif 700 Koios Habema stands not just as a guardian of sovereignty, but as a beacon of hope. Under the leadership of First Lieutenant Inf Na'im Aryo, these dedicated TNI soldiers are taking proactive steps to ensure that the residents of Gome Village receive the healthcare they desperately need. On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, they went beyond their call of duty—visiting homes, checking on the sick, and providing essential medical care.
"We don't want the people of Gome Village to feel abandoned, " said First Lieutenant Inf Na'im Aryo. "We are here as brothers, as family, who genuinely care about their health. That’s why we take the initiative to visit them, conduct medical check-ups, and provide vitamins and medicine for those in need."
A Lifeline in the Midst of Scarcity
With limited healthcare facilities in the region, the Yonif 700 Task Force has become a lifeline for the community. The soldiers are offering general medical treatment, blood pressure checks, and medication for common illnesses such as fever, cough, and digestive problems. Their presence has brought a newfound sense of relief to the residents, many of whom have long struggled to access proper medical care.
"We are deeply grateful for the presence of the TNI, " said Mama Yanti, a local mother who brought her child for treatment. "In the past, it was difficult to find medicine. Now, the TNI comes directly to our homes. May God bless them all."
Building a Sustainable Healthcare System
The Yonif 700 Task Force is not just addressing immediate medical needs; they are laying the foundation for long-term healthcare solutions. In collaboration with local medical personnel, the soldiers plan to provide training and mentorship, ensuring that the community can sustain its healthcare system long after their mission ends.
"We want to help build an independent healthcare system in Gome Village, " explained First Lieutenant Na'im Aryo. "By working closely with local healthcare workers, we can transfer knowledge and skills that will enable them to continue providing quality medical services to their own people."
A Mission Beyond Borders
This initiative goes beyond merely distributing medicine—it’s about delivering compassion and hope. The presence of the TNI in Gome Village is not just about security, but about ensuring a healthier, brighter future for the people they serve.
Commenting on this humanitarian effort, Pangkoopsau Habema, Major General Lucky Avianto, emphasized the broader mission of the TNI:
"What Yonif 700 has accomplished proves that the TNI is not only protecting Indonesia’s borders but also safeguarding the health and well-being of its people, " he stated. "We are here to be a part of positive change in Papua, to serve with heart, and to stand by our communities."
With dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment, Yonif 700 Task Force continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of Papua’s people—one medical check-up at a time.
