PAPUA - Amid their duty to safeguard the nation's borders, the 6th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif 6 Mar) Koops Habema is also fulfilling a humanitarian mission. On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, they demonstrated their commitment to the people by providing free health services to the residents of Yahukimo, with a special focus on children.
Under the leadership of Marine Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, S.M., M.Tr. Opsla., CTMP., the Marines personally visited communities, offering health check-ups, medical treatment, and health education. The sight of children's joyful smiles and parents’ relief painted a heartwarming scene throughout the event.
"We want to share happiness and ease the burden of the Yahukimo community, especially in terms of health, " said Lt. Col. Rismanto Manurung. "Healthcare is a fundamental right, and we feel called to help our brothers and sisters here."

This initiative is not just about delivering medical aid, but also about strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the TNI and the Papuan people. The presence of the Marines in Yahukimo provides a sense of security, comfort, and reassurance—proving that the TNI is not only a protector of sovereignty but also a dedicated force for the people’s well-being.

Beyond medical services, the 6th Marine Infantry Battalion actively engages in various social initiatives, including distributing essential food aid, constructing public facilities, and offering education on agriculture and livestock farming. These efforts aim to create long-term positive change in Yahukimo.
Meanwhile, Pangkoops Habema Major General TNI Lucky Avianto emphasized that the TNI remains devoted to serving the Yahukimo community with love and dedication.
"Our mission extends beyond defending national borders; we are also here to ensure the health and well-being of the people, " he concluded.
