PUNCAK - In a heartfelt display of service and solidarity, the RI–PNG Border Security Task Force of Infantry Battalion 732/Banau, through its Beoga Post, carried out a community clean-up at Bethesda Church in Milawak Village, Beoga District, on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Led by Sergeant Marselino and 11 personnel, the clean-up effort was part of the Task Force's ongoing commitment to not only defend the border, but also foster social cohesion and community development in remote areas of Papua. The troops enthusiastically removed weeds, collected trash, and cleaned the church compound to create a cleaner and more comfortable worship environment for the congregation.

TNI’s Presence: Not Just for Security, But for Togetherness

First Lieutenant Budi Hartono, Commander of Beoga Post, emphasized that the military’s role extends far beyond guarding borders.

“As the Border Security Task Force, we are always ready to support the local community not just through security, but also through initiatives like this. A church is a sacred space that deserves to be clean and respected. We hope our presence helps ease the community’s burden and brings us closer together, ” he stated.

Appreciation from the Community

The initiative received heartfelt appreciation from the local residents. Mama Delian, a respected community figure, expressed her gratitude for the TNI’s support:

“We are very thankful to the TNI for helping clean our church. It shows that they are not just soldiers, but true friends of the people. We hope this cooperation continues for the benefit of everyone in the village, ” she said warmly.

Strengthening Civil-Military Synergy in Papua

This activity reflects the broader mission of Infantry Battalion 732/Banau—to serve as a unifying force in Papua’s border region. Beyond defense duties, the Task Force is committed to improving quality of life through social engagement, religious respect, and public service.

Their presence in Milawak Village underscores the Indonesian Armed Forces' dedication to nurturing trust and harmony in even the most remote corners of the nation.
