A Touch of Love on the Border: Satgas Yonif 500/Sikatan Brings Joy to Children in Mamba Village

PAPUA - In the peaceful morning of Mamba Village, a joyful and heartwarming scene unfolded at the Mamba Kindergarten, near the Kotis of Satgas Pamtas RI-PNG Mobile Yonif 500/Sikatan. A group of 10 personnel, led by Sergeant First Class (Sertu) Priyo, conducted a Social Communication (Komsos) event, distributing clothes and candies to the children of Mamba Village. Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The event, marked by safety and warmth, was met with great enthusiasm by the children. Their excited laughter and radiant smiles were a beautiful display of the strong bond between the soldiers and the Papuan community. The Satgas personnel patiently and affectionately served the children, who eagerly accepted the simple yet meaningful gifts.

Sergeant Priyo, who led the event, shared his joy at being able to make a difference in the lives of the local children. "We are very happy to be here today with the children of Mamba. While it may seem like a small gesture—just distributing clothes and sweets—we hope it can serve as a bridge of affection between the TNI and the people. Their smiles are the greatest motivation for us in fulfilling our duties, " said Sergeant Priyo, his eyes shining with sincerity.

He continued, "This is a tangible manifestation of our concern; the TNI is a part of the people. We want the children of Papua to grow up healthy, happy, and with bright futures. Our presence here is not only about maintaining security, but also about being friends and brothers to all Papuan people, working together for a peaceful and prosperous Papua within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia."

This Komsos event is part of the routine program of Satgas Pamtas Mobile Yonif 500/Sikatan, aimed at strengthening bonds, assisting in alleviating community challenges, and fostering mutual trust and togetherness. Initiatives like these are expected to continue solidifying the unity between the TNI and the people, helping to create a harmonious and conducive atmosphere on the border.
